History of the Department
The Department of Political Science started functioning with the establishment of the college in 1984. The first faculty member of the department was Dr. V. P. Turukmane, who played a pivotal role in developing the department during its formative years.
In 1999, Dr. V. P. Turukmane was appointed as the Principal of the college. Even after becoming Principal, he continued to guide the department as Head of the Department (HOD) and contributed significantly to its academic growth. He served the institution with dedication until December 2022, when he retired after a long and distinguished career.
The second faculty member of the department is Dr. Pramod kumar Nandeshwar, who joined the department in 2005. At present, he is the only faculty member and is serving as the Head of the Department. Under his leadership, the department has continued its academic activities and expanded its academic scope with the introduction of the P.G. program in 2023.
